Available from 10 September to 10 May, corresponding to its production period, Mont d'Or (Controlled Designation of Origin) is a creamy cheese made at Longevilles Mont d'Or on the Mont d'Or mountain. The cheeses are set in spruce straps that impart their sweet woody flavours on the raw milk.
